father

D often crawls into our bed at about 3am, falls asleep and takes over the bed.

Well 2 nights ago she was already there asleep at midnight ! when we went to bed.

J, and I were talking about the games D was playing that day, especially the one where D pretends to be a sheep, who gets cold after being sheared, and goes and steals the wool back off of the farmer, and sticks it back on with tape….  ( yes my daughter has a strong imagination ! )

Half way through us talking about this …  D rolls over to J, and says and says ” I was …….  er sheep……    er   stick ….   wool on…… tape ”  then rolls over to me and continues to sleep !!  the kinda thing you say when you are drunk…..   well..  maybe that’s just me ?

  I tell you, D never misses a thing….

currently listening to Lost In Translation – soundtrack cd

Just heard that the heart consultant has agreed to see D in May !!

This a major deal, and at least it isn’t a year like he first said !

D is welsh, by nature of being born in Wales,

But she is still half English.

J, tried to get her to shout for Wales in the rugby last week, and D said to me, “Dad, I’m half Welsh……”   To wish I replied, yes, but remember that the bigger half in English ! ”

That confused her…

So do I get her to say ” Hey up Pops ” when we go home to Sheffield !! that’ll confuse her.!!

So the weekend turned out to be quite better than expected.bonding time for me and D.

Me and D, went to the park after and fed the ducks, and did the swings, though D was quite dismayed by the fact that the roundabout had been removed !!

The we drove over to ASDA ( other supermarkets are available ) and got some flowers for tomorrow, and food, we then came back and planted the sun flower seeds,

Today was filled mainly by guitar hero and trying to sort out our attic, which uncovered quite a few memories, and also quite a bit of junk, which needed binning, so we can put more junk in the attic. !!  it’s kinda like a big filing system up there !

currently listening to Ashes to Ashes theme album.

I have some time with D this weekend.

If the weather is good, hopefully we shall go to the country park

then we have sunflowers to plant. There is nothing like trying to get children into gardening, also D is very clingy to J. Hopefully we can start to break this down by having some quality time with her.

Then soon we are off to Sheffield to see the family, to let my family have some time with D. not sure if my sisters plan of going to the chinese supermarket on the tram will come off though, I think D has plans of seeing my sisters pet cat, Morris……   Goodness help Morris !

Currently listening to Alter Bridge.

D, has her heart appointment on Thursday,  not life threatning, but it may need sorting.

If you can spare us a thought on Thursday it would be appreciated,

 Basically there is 2 outcomes.

1) Full discharge.

2) Back to Bristol and have the procedure done again.

It is a ….  worrying time, we thought we were over it, then at the check up they added a year to the final discharge date to be sure. You think a year is a huge time away, but it is amazing how soon it  comes around again.

Surgery is worrying when it is yourself having it, but when your child has to have it, it suddenly blows things out of proportion, remembering the operation nearly 3 yrs ago is bad, but now D being nearly 4 she will be fully aware of what is happening, which makes it harder for us parents……. The worst part was remembering the surgeon saying “Do you want to kiss D good-bye?? “……..   I was furious inside, it wasn’t GOOD-BYE..  only … good-night.for couple of hours.  I keep saying it but before you have children, you can’t put yourself in the shoes of someone with children ( I do not try to make myself out to be something special saying that…. ) but it is true, things change. The amount of love you have for a child is incredible, and undescribable.  and naturally you don’t want any harm to come to them, you want to shield them from harm.

So if you can spare us a thought on Thursday it would be apprecriated.

The times they are a changing …..   said someone, once.

Well they are at Sheffield Wednesday !

Saved from the brink by Milan Mandaric, and I mean the brink, their future is starting to look rosy.

Although the team, can’t put 90 minutes of football together, at least now there is investment into the squad, something that has been lacking for years !!

Goodbye to Darren Purse, you wore your heart on your sleeve, but I think the time was right to move. all the best for the future, maybe we’ll be playing against you next season in the Championship !

If only we could sign a good midfielder, someone to hold and then distribute the ball, we would be a force to be reckoned with. No more long ball game please.

The future is bright, the future is blue and white!!

I went home last weekend, which was … Fantastic.

I didn’t get to go at Christmas, so this kinda made up for it.

Firstly I got to see the family, which as I get older I appreciate more and more, I think when you are younger you kind of take them for granted, nothing in life should be taken for granted, So I spent some time with them, and my Gran. Helped my sister finish pull down a ceiling, and clear up then start clearing the green house of last years rubbish, ready for this years harvest.

Managed to get to see Sheffield Wednesday, though paying £24 for about 24 minutes of decent football is not value for money. How a team can totally underperform one half, yet show sparks of brilliance in the second half is totally beyond me, but that is the life of a suffering football fan, The future is bright, the future is blue and white.

Thanks to my sister and boyfriend, I discovered Bradfield Brewery, and their fantastic ales www.bradfieldbrewery.co.uk , ( I think I know where I’m visiting on my next trip home ! )

It was all in all a very good weekend, I need a few lung fulls of Yorkshire air again to rejuvinate me, It’s still my home.

Oh My,

Last week has been hectic with work, and trying to get broadband finally into our home, ( we must be the last people in the world to still have dial up !!! )Hopefully this will be sorted next week.

So Christmas was a good break , though I had a flu like virus for a week, so it was ovan chips on Christmas Day for me !! Couldn’t get home to Sheffield due to illness, and also the snow !

D had a great time at Xmas, and aslo the snow, stared in her chapel xmas play, but had to have her MMR booster jabs yesterday , which went surprisingly well.

We are debating to give D the swine flu jab, as though it is kicking off again, there seem to be many problems with the vaccine, and its lack of test history, it is one to ponder….   and D has her final heart check at the end of the month, where she either gets discharged, or will have to have the procedure again !! just to add to the stress levels !

This weekend, I will (hopefully) get home for the weekend to see the family, help my sister in her renovated – ing house, and also get to see Sheffield Wednesday play Charlton.

 busy, busy.

I have been looking to buy a farm for D for christmas, AHmmm ( I mean to send to father christmas for him to deliver !)

All the ones we have seen are approx £40

easy I thought, I’ll make one great idea…….

8 weeks on and we have a deadline to meet, people !!!

so far it has cost me approx £50 !

but this farm has a moving windmill etc, so it is better in my opinion ! it is amazing what can be made from mdf !

Then yesterday, I left some of the fencing ontop of the tumble dryer, which is on top of the washing machine, and this morning D said ” what’s that mam, it looks…. like   a fence, and windmill !!”

Oh joy, that will have to be moved this evening, and hopefully it will be forgotten ….  Yeah right !

sometimes kids have big eyes, and noses eh !!!
